Step away from everyday life to do deep visioning and planning.

Life is hectic.

It's hard to carve out time to reflect on what's happening in your business, where you're hoping to go, and what types of support/planning you need to get there.

This retreat is designed to provide space, time, community and support that allow you to think carefully about your vision and plan your next steps.

Reconnect with your work, redefine your practice, and rejuvenate your spirit in a tranquil space, surrounded by other practitioners engaged in similar work.

Our retreat offers a rare opportunity to engage in deep thinking, visioning, and strategic planning for the next season of your professional journey.

This retreat is for:

  • Herbalists, nutritionists and other clinicians
  • People who are currently in practice
  • People who will be in practice soon
  • People who are returning to practice after a break

Our intentions for the retreat:

  • Relax, step away from your daily tasks, and connect with other practitioners and nature
  • Spend time assessing your practice: what's working, what's not working, your dreams and plans
  • Plan your social media and/or content marketing strategy for the coming months
  • Prepare a document to guide you and ground you over the summer/fall

Hello! I’m an herbalist and nutritionist and over the past 25 years I have worn a variety of hats and enjoy using my experiences to help others grow and succeed, so I’m very excited about the retreat!

I have been a professor, program director, clinical herbalist, faculty at pharmacy and chiropractic colleges, president of the American Herbalists Guild, lecturer at herbal medicine conferences in more than 10 countries, author of a published book, and the list goes on. I’m currently the program director of the MS in Clinical Herbal medicine at MUIH, where for the past 20 years I have watched students graduate, adopt a path, and succeed and have learned a lot about what it takes.

I love what I do, and I want to help you create the career you envision.

Hi there! I run Bloom & Grow and have been offering virtual dreaming and planning workshops for years. I'm so excited about offering an in-person version. In addition to the classes, workshops, and community of practice here at Bloom and Grow, I've been a clinician (herbalist and nutritionist) since 2004.  I'm also a former professor in the Department of Nutrition at the Maryland University of Integrative Health, where I taught physiology and pathophysiology for almost 17 years. Both my teaching and my clinical work are grounded in practical, fun, and common-sense methods that help us understand our work and ourselves more fully.

FAQ

If you have any other questions, please contact us 💚

can I get a private room?

Yes! You can pay $125 extra for a single room if you prefer. Please contact us to arrange for this.

Can i request a specific roommate?

Absolutely. There will be a short survey after you register. One of the questions in the survey will ask if you have a roommate in mind.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes! Wellspring will be providing our meals, and they cater to the dietary needs/restrictions of each group. After you register, there will be a short survey. The survey will ask about your dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions.

I live locally. Can I commute?

Yes! Please contact us if you'd like to commute. Meals are included, but lodging is not. The commuter price for the retreat is $300. We ask that all commuters be conscious that arriving late or leaving early may disrupt the flow of the group 💚

What is the refund/cancellation policy?

If you cancel > 4 weeks prior to the retreat, you will receive a full refund, minus a $10 processing fee. If you cancel < 4 weeks prior to the retreat, we are only able to offer a 50% refund unless we are able to fill your spot, in which case you will get a full refund minus a $10 processing fee. If we do not reach the minimum number needed to hold the retreat, we will notify you immediately (by mid-April at the latest) and issue a full refund, although we are not able to cover any costs associated with travel to/from the retreat.

is wellspring wheelchair-accessible?

The main conference space is wheelchair accessible. There are two adjoining bedrooms with a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. If you would need a wheelchair-accessible room, please indicate this on the welcome survey after registration.

what if I cannot attend the entire retreat?

We recommend waiting to join us a different time if you cannot attend the full retreat.

Do you have scholarships or discounts?

Not at this time. Because this is our first time running this program, we have kept costs for participants at a bare minimum. Prices will likely increase in the future; if so, we will offer discounts/scholarships.

Will i be rooming with someone of another gender?

In our welcome survey, we'll ask for any preferences or requirements you have when it comes to roommates.

Is wellspring accessible via public transit?

The Wellspring Conference center is located a 15 minute drive from the nearest Washington DC metro station at Shady Grove. Uber / Lyft is available, and we will also connect attendees prior to the retreat in a private Facebook group, in case you'd like to arrange car pooling. The WMATA DC Metro system is connected to the Washington Dulles and Washington Reagan airports. The BWI Airport near Baltimore is also connected by regular commuter bus service to Gaitehrsburg, which is about 15 minutes away as well. Amtrak connections are also available though Washington DC.

We'd love to have you join us in June 💚

If you're planning to attend, please go ahead and register so we can pass along your food preferences. We can't wait to see you there.
