April 16, 2025

Short note today, brought to you via Beth Pickens. I wavered on whether to send this or not, as I don't want to sound preachy.

But, I needed this reminder, and eventually decided maybe you'd appreciate it as well.

In a class a few months ago, Beth asked us to sit with this idea: What you feed will grow.

What's getting your attention these days?

What's getting your time?

Are these the things you want to feed?

When I thought about these questions, I realized the news is getting far too much of my attention. I want to stay informed, and even so, there's no reason I need to check multiple times per day.

I'm channeling the urge to repeatedly check the news into checking what's happening outside instead. (Dogwoods, dandelions, violets, robins are what's happening here.)

It's not the world's biggest shift, but it is making a difference in the creative energy I have for work (and in my emotional health, too).

Maybe there's a small adjustment you can make, too, that will open up a little more room for what matters to you.

Take care,

Camille
