Have things been slower than usual lately in your practice?

I wanted to send this message to share that it's not just you.

Through Monday Mentoring and my 1:1 mentoring sessions, I work with lots of practitioners. I'm also in various groups with other business owners from very different fields.

Almost universally, everyone has noticed a dip in new customers or clients, income, and overall growth since early this year. Summer is naturally a slow time for many practitioners, and what we're going through now seems unusual even for the summer.

I don't have a quick fix for you, but I can share just a few things to think about as we navigate these waters:

First, it's natural to have periods of contraction that counterbalance periods of expansion in life and in your business. Things fluctuate. It will get better, although it may take a while. If you need to get creative or do other things to supplement income temporarily, that is 100% okay.

It's easy to feel like nothing you're doing to build your practice is working, particularly when things are slow. Keep pedaling. Most of what you do in terms of marketing or promotion can take several months (or more!) to play out.

Lastly, summer is a great time to do outward work like connecting with other businesses and practitioners who serve the same folks that you do. Who would you like to connect with this summer, and what would be a fun way to do that?

Take care,

Camille
