I was looking through my highlights from Mark Silver's book, Heart-Centered Business, last week.

One of my highlights jumped out at me, since it's been on my mind lately:

...the capacity to face emotional discomfort without the need to fix or soothe...is one of the most important capacities a human being can develop.

What a powerful reminder.

As practitioners and healers, it's easy to feel like action is better than inaction.

In reality, sometimes what's most needed is deep listening and the ability to bear witness or walk alongside someone who's going through a difficult time.

Don't underestimate this component of the work we do. Skills and training in physiology, nutrition, herbs, etc. are important, and meaningful healing isn't accomplished only with skill and knowledge. We accomplish our work when we provide space, time, care and healing presence as well.

May each of us have the strength and wisdom to be fully present when we're most needed.

Take care,

Camille
