On Jealousy

January 12, 2023

Quick thought for you today, brought to you by The Artist’s Way book club we had in Monday Mentoring last summer.

In the book, Julia Cameron writes about jealousy as being both a map and a mask for fear.

Jealousy is always a mask for fear: fear that we aren’t able to get what we want; frustration that someone else seems to be getting what’s rightfully ours even if we are too frightened to reach for it.

and,

At its root, jealousy is a stingy emotion. It doesn’t allow for the abundance and multiplicity of the universe. The truth, revealed by action in the direction of our dreams, is that there is room for all of us.

That bit about action in the direction of our dreams is an important one.

Worth thinking about ♥️

Warmly,

Camille

P.S. I wrote a post on LinkedIn earlier this week about my process for deciding if I should sign up for a new course/program/thing. Maybe it will be helpful for you, too 😊
