It’s been a few weeks since I’ve sent out a newsletter.
We had a very serious medical emergency while I was traveling overseas (everyone is fine now), and it has taken me some time to get my act together in the aftermath.
While the proverbial shit was hitting the fan, one of the things that most struck me was how many people offered material and emotional support, including strangers who helped us on the ground, multiple medical teams, and people from around the world sending technical assistance, offers to support the children, messages of support, warm thoughts/prayers, etc.
Most of the time, there weren’t things that other people could do to help in any practical way. It did help, though, to know how many people cared and were willing to lend a hand in big ways and small ones.
It’s very real to me at this moment that this is also one of the biggest gifts we offer as practitioners.
As a client, having someone on your team who acknowledges the struggle, holds space, and provides guidance as you walk through the hard parts – the ones only you can walk through – is more important than almost anything else we have to offer.
For all of you who have been holding space and sending love to others: thank you. It matters
Warmly,
Camille
p.s. If I owe you a message, please bear with me or re-send. My inbox is truly an untamed beast at the moment
