I recently implemented a system for handling letter of recommendation requests, which I outline in this episode. It's dramatically cut down the amount of time I spend on the administrative work associated with letter-writing. If you spend a few hours setting up a similar system, you'll save yourself a lot of time and frustration in the long run!

You can see my website page for students who want to request letters, and the one with instructions to be used after I've agreed to the request.

Many thanks to Dr. Tressie McMillan Cottom and Dr. Tricia Matthew for sharing their guidelines, which I modified and re-used. I highly recommend following both on Twitter and elsewhere.
