I haven’t blogged for a while. There are quite a few posts brewing – have been for months – and I haven’t been able to pull it together given how awful things have been in the world lately. I just don’t have the will or extra energy to take on non-essential tasks.

Just like this puppy, I feel a bit downtrodden.

I don't think I'm the only one, either.

At our latest departmental faculty meeting, we observed that across the board more students are struggling this trimester than we would normally expect. I strongly suspect that our students are reaching their maximum capacity to deal with things, just like I am. I imagine that they have less buffer available right now, less possibility of bouncing back when they fall behind and life happens.

When things are horrible, and I feel ineffective, unmotivated and beaten down I need to laugh. I collected some of the things that make me laugh, as a personal reminder/reference that I’m planning to revisit as needed. It struck me that some other folks may also be in need of a deep belly laugh, so I'm posting them here rather than keeping them private.

I will add more as they cross my desk.

Do you have one to add? Leave a comment or send me a message.

The more the merrier. (heh)

Rules? Not really, other than that a) it can’t be mean laughter, and b) it must elicit deep laughter – not just something that’s mildly cute or brings a smile. Belly laughing.

It's a whole playlist. Thank me later.

Newscaster Cannot Stop Laughing

Okay, this one slightly violates one of my rules, in that technically we are laughing at ol' Ryan. But really, we're laughing because she's laughing.

Other funnies

  • Jenny Lawson + Twitter: I can almost guarantee that you will lose at least 30 minutes reading this list of cringe-worthy things that escape our mouths, so click with caution. Bring tissues for the tears that will almost certainly stream down your face. This is my go-to "I need to laugh" remedy.
  • Autocorrect fails: The lists are everywhere. Like this one
  • This image. Gets me every time. No! I must dance.
  • My Dad Wrote a Porno: Podcast. Have thought I might need to pull the car over due to extreme laughter. I'd start from the episode 1.

Like I said, I'll add more as they come to me. Would love your suggestions!
