It’s always fun to find out that a client who’s been trying to conceive is pregnant, and I often have the pleasure of being one of the first to know. After the initial flurry of congratulations and questions about which herbs and supplements to start/stop and what to eat, the next question I am most often asked is if there are any books I’d recommend.
As one client recently put it:
[I’m] avoiding the internet like the plague. Can you recommend good
reads to help with a healthy pregnancy? Everything I’ve read so far
has freaked me out!!
I can’t tell you how common this is! I decided to put together a month-by-month list for your reading pleasure. I’ve chosen books that are informational, educational and/or just plain fun; they are all oriented toward natural parenting and cover topics including pregnancy FAQ, birth, breastfeeding and baby care.
Without further ado, here’s the list on Amazon:

Have other suggestions? I’d love to hear them! Please comment below or contact me. This book junkie can never get enough.
I like Sheri Menelli’s Journey Into Motherhood, Inspirational Stories of Natural Birth, too, for really empowering personal declarations from women powerfully designing their own birth experiences.
